It has been quite a week with our community reeling from the devastation that Hurricane Helene has caused. I know I have been sharing a lot about this and I so appreciate the response to my newsletter earlier this week and various instagram posts. I wanted to go ahead and post these resources here along with my shareable art, the more we share, the more we can find others who may want to help.
We live in a beautiful slice of paradise here on the Gulf Coast. Anna Maria Island has a special place for those of us who are from here and have grown up along with our little island. The devastation is so hard to wrap my head around. I have so many friends who have lost their businesses and everything in their homes. On a personal level, we are devastated over the loss of my in-laws beach house. A place that has been in their family for 60+ years and holds special memories for us all. However, it has been amazing to see the community come together and help each other. From the restaurants on the island who were able to reopen quickly offering free food to residents and workers, the community center collecting supplies and having other businesses in town be drop off points, to the volunteers just helping to clean homes and businesses.
