My girl. I got 18 beautiful years with you. I stil My girl. I got 18 beautiful years with you. I still can’t believe the cat I (had no business) adopting in college, would see me through such formative years. It’s wild to think back on her living on Greymon Drive (iykyk) in Palm Beach with me & a few girlfriends. From there we moved 6 times together. Her & I, always a packaged deal wherever we went. She overlapped with my childhood dog in her last year, “accidentally” adopted Twiggy🐱her sister of 13 years. When we met Hunter he had his dog Country, they got to love each other for a few years. We adopted Blade & once she made it clear she ruled the roost, they became the sweetest friends. From my first home, our engagement, wedding, our next/first home as a family, welcoming our son…she’s been my constant & my shadow, an emotional support pet every step of the way. I watched her become a mama bear to Zeppy, which made me think back on those college years when we found each other, a lifetime ago, yet she was still here. To not only meet, but love & connect with him too. She was cuddly, funny & the most mischievous. All of my friends & family knew her, knew what she meant to me. I have always been the cat lady of the group. She was more of a “cat dog”, greeting us at the door, begging, being a social butterfly. She seemed to sniff out the people who didn’t like cats and torment them. She could be a total menace getting into stuff, eating papers, getting the rips in the middle of the night, meowing whenever her bowl was empty in the wee hours of the morning. All of those things in my daily routine is what I’ll miss the most. She had such a presence and always followed me around. Working at home most of my adult life meant we were always together. Most of the time, sunbathing on my desk while I painted. I am walking my baby through his first broken heart, not fully understanding why he had to say goodbye to his kitty. It’s added a layer to the grief that I knew would hit me like a freight train when this day came. I could say a thousand more things about how great she’s been. She lived such a long happy life, so loved and so spoiled, our little queen. We’ll miss you forever 💔
