Happy Friday!
Back with some more photos from our trip to Arizona! After our two night stay in Phoenix for my friends wedding, we took off early Saturday morning and drove to the Grand Canyon. It was about a 3.5 hour trip. We had previously decided on hiking the South Kaibab Trail and since we got there so early we went straight into the park to begin our hike. These first few photos are some scenes from the trail…
The weather was really nice this day, not too hot or too cold. About half way through the wind picked up and it started raining for a short period of time. The stormy weather created quite a beautiful scene as you can see below. The sun was poking through, highlighting this point and a rainbow began to appear…
After hiking we quickly researched some look out points to watch the sunset. It was still an hour from setting at this point but it was so peaceful to sit on the rocks and take in the beautiful sights. Photos could never do this place justice. As the sun got lower we could see the rain in the distance…
We spent that night at the Grand Hotel just a few minutes outside of the park. We got up super, super early to stake out a perfect spot to watch the sunrise. The colors were insane, it was such a gorgeous thing to see. I loved looking through my photos and seeing how different the colors were at each phase…
This Florida gal (and guy) were pleased with 50 degrees that morning 🙂
I had been dying to see some ‘wildlife’ (as I always am, give me all the animals please)…on our way our of the park that day there were about 20-30 elk on the side of the road!
We just had time for one night in the Grand Canyon, we left after the sunrise and breakfast to head to Page, stopping at one last lookout to see the river…
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
