CREATING DURING COVID-19 + FREE COLORING SHEET DOWNLOADS

Happy Monday ( yeah, it’s Monday! ) Hope you guys are staying well. It’s been a little while since I put a post together. It’s honestly been hard to know what to say or do (or how I can help) during this strange time in the world. I have been trying to keep my focus on creating and organizing things that I normally don’t have time to do. On a person note – we are hanging in there. I feel lucky to not have my schedule so uprooted like some people do. I typically work alone in my studio and sometimes work at home so that hasn’t been a huge change. It really stinks to not meet up with friends for coffee or dinner, as those are the little things I look forward to every week to have some social interaction. I have had four clients weddings postponed that I would normally be working on (and collecting payments for!) for April and May. With retail stores closed we also aren’t receiving any wholesale orders. We’ve had all of our in person markets cancelled, I would normally do one or two a month. We were looking forward to a trade show in San Francisco (and visiting my sister who lives there) at the end of April. It is all just sad and disappointing. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t worried about how this will affect business for the rest of the year. So many of my friends have small businesses too. I am feeling for everyone right now, all industries and all people are being affected.

Looking forward, I have been filling my days with paintings and sketches and finishing up a few remaining client projects. I am happy to have some more time at home to get organized and clean out. I am thankful for my Etsy shop and for everyone who has been placing orders over the last couple of weeks (our 15% off sale is still going on). I’ve been experimenting with different mediums and working on some originals to offer later this year. One thing I am loving are Micron pens. I tried my hand at digitally coloring and really loved the results. A couple people suggested on instagram that I should do coloring sheets and so I have a couple for you all today! Scroll down through some of my recent paintings to find the download link. I colored them in to give you an idea and you can download the black and white version to color on your own. Hope you enjoy these and please remember to tag me if you post your creations! @shannonkirsten

Hoping these flowers brighten your week just a little!
