I haven’t done a ’round up’ post in forever but with the Sephora beauty insider sale starting today I was already browsing (aka adding to cart) so I thought I would share some of my favorite things. Plus I could talk about this stuff for hours! I have always been a closet product junkie since my first trip to Sephora as a kid, which happened to be in Paris! Thanks to my mom, I have been into using clean products for some time now. I love seeing so many brands switch to fewer ingredients and LOVE that Sephora makes it easy to shop the clean products now. I do a lot of research when I try something new and now have a solid beauty/makeup routine that really works for me. I still love to experiment though and that mostly comes in the form of new lip colors or eye shadow palettes. Using good brushes and the beauty blender have been total game changers for me. I was always a hand applier but after reading / watching some Youtube videos on the power of the beauty blender I am a true believer. Tools are a great thing to stock up on during this sale. Along with palettes and kits so you can try things out that are more expensive without a big commitment (i.e Drunk Elephant Products and Tarte Shadow Palettes). I spend a little more on my basic because as I said, I love my routine and it really works for my skin. Tate Cosmetics is my go to. I daily use the Amazonian Clay 12 hour Foundation (in Ivory), Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Powder (in Fair-Light Neutral) with the Airbrush Finish Bamboo Brush, then the Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in muted strawberry red with the small side of the Bronze & Glow Contour Brush (I use this to contour sometimes as typical contour sets don’t work for me since I’m so pale, lol), then I brush a tad bit of the Rainforest Filtered Light Setting Powder with the larger side of this same brush because I like a more matte / full coverage look. I carry the Smooth Operator Tinted Pressed Finishing Powder (in fair) in my bag at all times in case I need a touch up on those extremely hot / wet / humid Florida days. I also LOVE the shape tape concealer but that is a Tarte / Ulta exclusive. I use the Tarteist Double Take Eyeliner, I like the option of have the pencil and liquid, the sex kitten liquid liner is great too and I’ve been using this lately because the other was sold out. I recently got the Tartest Glossy Lip Paint as a sample (in Goals) and was obsessed with the creamy texture and light pigment. I will be buying this full size during the sale and will probably accumulate more colors eventually because it’s a really great day to day gloss. Last but certainly not least – Diorshow Black Out Mascara (first with the Diorshow Maximizer Plumpin Lash Primer) is my favorite mascara of allllll time! I also use Dior’s Brow Styler Ultra-Fine in the universal shade, it’s by far the tiniest / most natural looking brow pencil + brush combo I’ve tried. Burberry’s highlighter stick is perfect for a tiny amount of highlight (i.e brow bone and cupids bow). I recently got a sample of the Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 and plan to buy this full size as I have been spraying it over my makeup everyday this summer. I save my Nars Satin + Matte Lip Pencils for my weekend look (ha) as they are very pigmented and I don’t always need to look like a qween when I’m alone at my studio. I have a lot of colors but the Rikugien is my favorite, it’s a good daily muted rose pink. I also love their matte lipstick and Dior’s addict gloss which has a lot of color and shine. Marc Jacob brushes are my favorite for concealor and eye shadow. Their fun colored eye liners are also a new love of mine when I want to experiment with color. Living Proof Dry Shampoo is my favorite hair product from Sephora, I buy it over and over again and it works wonders. Last but not least, the Drunk Elephant C-Serum and whipped cream is so good. I use a lot of Glossier skincare as well but that’s a post for another day 🙂
