When I’m not painting lately you can find me planning / dreaming some bungalow updates and doing a bit of re-decorating. One of my resolutions this year was to put more love into my house and turn it into the coziest bungalow of my dreams. I’ve felt a need to really refresh this space lately… To make it a comfortable, relaxing, and happy place to come home to after long days in the studio. Working on some bigger projects and starting a new instagram to document has been such a fun outlet for me. Even though I get to be creative for a living, I still need an outlet that allows me to be creative without the pressure of ‘work’. Hence how @bungalowbohemia has come into play.
Today I’m sharing my love for fun, funky hardware. I believe it’s a very small change that has a great impact! Whether you change out switch plates, add knobs to an old piece of furniture, hang hooks…it’s a way to add extra interest to a room without changing or spending too much. I feel like window hardware is a big one. I was using super cheap, plastic rods but had these great curtains I really love (so much so that I just bought a second set for the dining room, ha). They weren’t truly shining on the old white ones. I love that these wood and brass rods have a presence and make the window feel complete. It’s weird how obsessed I am with them! 🙂

Here’s the before photo (wish I would’ve taken a few more but you get the gist)…
I also switched the pictures, plant hangers, and scored this amazing rattan chair at a local thrift shop for $20. I went back for the couch a week later and thank God it was still there! More on that soon.
